  4. Dear Dr, Dear colleagues:
Before the last week we talked about the behaviorism theory. Doctor said that Behaviorism, also known as behavioral psychology, is a theory of learning based upon the idea that all behaviors are acquired through conditioning. Conditioning occurs through interaction with the environment. Behaviorists believe that our responses to environmental stimuli shapes our behaviors. Then we talked about some examples of the conditioning stimulus. Finally, he informed us with the new assignment which is his Blogspot . I hope we can achieve the whole assignments and presentations properly.

  5. Last week I was absent because I had caught common cold. But I asked my colleagues what they have taken last week. They took the cognitive theory of learning and compare it with the previous one which is the behaviorism theory. Actually I understand that cognitive school criticize the behaviorism theory for everything. They believe in LAD in the brain of human being and the UG.

In the last meeting Dr made a revision for what have done last lecture. Then he explained a new theory which was the CA theory. CA was established in 1954 by the linguist Robert Lado when he published his famous book called Linguistics Across Cultures. The published of this book was the birth of Contrastive Analysis Theory. CA was familiar with the theory of teaching. It was defined as a sub- discipline of linguistics concerned with the comparison of two or more languages or sub- systems of language in order to determine both the differences and similarities between them. CA can predict, describe, and explain errors that committed by L2 learners. It looks for the realization of a universal category in the contrasted languages. He mentioned three sources of CA such as the practical experience of the FL teachers, bilingual people a phenomenon of interference has been noted, and the uncontrolled use of the L1 transfer in producing new responses. In brief, the basic of CA is the comparison between the L1 and L2 depends on description. Therefore, CA is related to linguistic theory that describe languages.
